Research focus

Professor Kelly Newell’s research focuses on the neurobiology and treatment of mental illness including depression and schizophrenia. She utilizes postmortem human brain samples to uncover biological changes in the brains of those with mental illness. She has research interests in the biology of antenatal depression and the impacts of antenatal depression and its treatment on offspring.
