Research focus

Beenu Bastian is a Credentialed Diabetes Educator and a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Diabetes Education. Her research project is aimed at improving the maternal and neonatal outcomes in pregnancies complicated by gestational diabetes. Her research will explore the impact of variables such as body mass index, diagnostic and treatment criteria, gestation at diagnosis and insulin commencement on perinatal outcomes and exploring the future risk of type 2 diabetes. The results of the study will help her team in evaluating the effectiveness of current practices and will pave way for evidence based research.
