Shared amenities and services

To maximise research team interaction and support collaboration, the Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute’s (IHMRI) international-standard biomedical laboratories are designed around the principle of shared amenities and services.

Built to PC2 specifications with abundant natural light, the laboratories occupy levels two and three of IHMRI’s building, providing in excess of 1,200 square metres of wet laboratory and specialist equipment room space.

IHMRI researchers are supported by a highly-skilled Technical Services team who manage the day-to-day operations of the laboratories and provide a range of specialist technical support and training.

Please note, all laboratory research areas require an induction prior to access. IHMRI affiliated researchers who have been inducted can access safety procedures and equipment operating instructions on IHMRI’s Intranet (login required).
