This three-day course consists of a mixture of lectures, to cover essential theoretical background, and hands-on tutorials and computer exercises, to provide practical experience with analyses of real meta-analytic datasets.
- Systematic reviews – defining the research question, registration in PROSPERO, searching the literature, selecting the studies, assessing their methodological quality and reporting the findings
- Meta-analyses – data extraction and pooling with fixed-effect and random effects models (dichotomous or continuous outcome data in RCTs)
- Advanced methods in meta-analysis – meta-regression; how to deal with missing data? how to account for multiple interventions and multiple outcomes?
