Dr Michael Davis graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sydney. Since graduation he has been admitted to Fellowship of both the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and the College of Intensive Care Medicine.

He has extensive leadership and management experience and represented the College of Intensive Care on the NSW Regional Committee and in Hong Kong on the role of Complementary Medicine in Intensive Care. He is currently a member of the NSW Health Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) Work Group for the State wide implementation of an electronic record for Intensive Care. He was the winner of the Collaborative Leader nominee for the ISLHD and was a finalist in this category at the 2016 NSW Health Awards.

He is the current Director of Intensive Care at Wollongong Hospital and is the Medical Director of the Division of Critical Care for the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD). He is a member of the ISLHD Strategic Executive and an adviser to the ISLHD Board on the Shellharbour Hospital Public Private Partnership.
