Fearless fundraisers brave a windy WIN Stadium
An intrepid group of IHMRI staff, researchers and staff from the Shellharbour Branch of the Commonwealth Bank volunteered for a 50-50 Charity Raffle at WIN Stadium on Sunday 14 July, when the St. George Illawarra Dragons played the Canberra Raiders.
In cold and windy conditions, the IHMRI fundraising dragons breathed fire into their fundraising efforts, raising $3,040 for vital health and medical research at IHMRI. Although the Dragons were defeated, all the volunteers had a fun time at the game.
Well done to Dr Han-Shen Tae for selling the most tickets on the night. A marvellous effort.
50-50 Charity Raffle is Australia’s only not-for-profit 50-50 raffle that gives fans the chance to play for large cash prizes while supporting local charities. 50-50 works with sporting clubs and charity partners to host fundraising raffles at large events, with 50 per cent of the total prize pool going to the winner, and 50 per cent go towards charitable purposes.
IHMRI would like to thank Marko and Tom from 50-50 for helping us. IHMRI would also like to warmly thank all the researchers, operations staff and volunteers who helped make this such a fun and special day.
